THE Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is going out of its way to ensure that people are able to travel safely and conveniently to, and around, Mysore between September 19 and 28. It has made arrangments to ensure that services are not affected, especially between September 26 and 28, when hundreds of thousands visit Mysore from across the State and from outside.
The KSRTC has set up special information counters at the Mysore bus station and at the exhibition. It is offering visitors four package tours. The Giridarshini tour includes places like Bandipur, Gopalaswami Hill, Biligiriranga Hills and Chamundi Hills. The Jaladarshini tour includes Iruppu Falls, Abbe Falls and Rajas Seat in Madikeri, the national park in Nagarahole and the Golden Temple in Kushalnagara. For the tourist who is content with city sights, there is Nagaradarshini, which will take him to to Nanjangud, Uttanahalli, Chamundi Hills, the Dasara exhbition, Jaganmohan Palace, Srirangapatna and the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam. For the religiously inclined, there is Devadarshini and the venues include Bluff (Sivanasamudram), Mudukuthore, Talakadu, Somnathpura and Srirangapatna.
The KSRTC has installed cameras at all bus stops in Mysore for the sake of security. All its offices and buildings in Mysore will be prominently lit up.
