THE success of its main campus in Visakhapatnam prompted GITAM University to go to Hyderabad two years ago and establish its off-campus centre at Rudraram village in Patancheru mandal.
The facility, with its well-established laboratories, has received a good response from students. Apart from engineering programmes, the university provides management education through its Hyderabad Business School (HBS). Research, executive development programmes and consultancy services are offered here. GITAM claims that the main strength of HBS lies in its world-class infrastructure and dedicated faculty with industrial, research and teaching experience at the national and international levels. Of its 75-strong faculty, 40 have PhDs .
The emphasis of HBS has been to prepare business leaders and develop sound academia-industry collaboration.
HBS offers a two-year, full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, which aims to produce true professionals ready to take up leadership positions. Academic and co-curricular activities, taught and presented by experts from institutions and industry, have been included in the syllabus.
Centre for Distance LearningGITAM University established the Centre for Distance Learning in the academic year 2009-10. It offers 13 undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes in literature, management, science and social sciences. It has virtual classrooms and unique learning resources. Online learning is provided for select programmes. It has 40 study centres in different parts of the State; it is accessible to tribal and remote rural areas also.
