GITAM University is synonymous with quality education. Hence, it is not surprising that the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has granted it an A grade, says Vice-Chancellor G. Subramanyam. It is a recognition of its proficiency in teaching, research and consultancy, he feels. This is the first time a deemed university in South India has received an A grade, Prof. Subramanyam says. The university is ranked 74th among the top 400 universities and educational institutions in India.

GITAM Institute of Management was ranked the best B-School in Andhra Pradesh in the All India Management Association (AIMA) survey for 2010.

It was also among the top five in South India in a 2010 survey done by Outlook magazine and 41st in India in The Week's survey; it received A++ in a Business India survey on top B schools.

Subramanyam says the university provides complete learning solutions to students. We want to empower every student with the required skills to build a bright career, he says. The university ensures that its graduates get placements in premier corporate organisations. He would like the university to be known as a research institution.

Students are encouraged to take up social service programmes. The students' Eco-Friends Club in the university organises environment protection programmes, says Subramanyam.
