Venkitesh Ramakrishnan

Venkitesh Ramakrishnan, Chief of Bureau in Delhi and Senior Associate Editor, has 35 years of experience as a journalist in print, broadcast and electronic media. The Ayodhya imbroglio, the impact of the Mandal Commission proposals and the militancy in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir are among the major issues he has covered in depth. He specialises in political analysis, including the study of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections for the past 25 years, and also tracks sociological trends, especially in rural India. He is associated with a number of NGOs in an advisory capacity, among them the Schumacher Centre in Delhi, Saksham Kids in NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh, and the Mehac Foundation.
